Misty Blue, MPH, CPH, graduated from the University of Minnesota (UMN), School of Public Health with a concentration in Maternal and Child Health and a minor in Evaluation Studies. Her background is in violence prevention and gender equity. Misty has worked as an Advocate at Casa de Esperanza. During graduate school she worked at the UMN Extension Center for Family Development within the applied research and evaluation department where she focused on increasing healthy behaviors—nutrition and physical activity related—within low-wealth communities across the state of Minnesota and its tribal nations. During this time Misty lead a year-long evaluation of Minnesota Chippewa Tribe’s evaluation of their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed).
