Thao Vang (she/her/hers), Research Associate
Thao Vang, Research Associate, holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology from St. Olaf College. She began her evaluation and research career at Wilder Research where she worked primarily on adult and children mental health and public health research projects. She has extensive experience applying quantitative and qualitative research methods to engage community members most impacted by issues being explored. Thao has led and supported projects funded by the government and local nonprofit agencies with internal evaluation capacity building; community needs assessments; and using data for program design, improvement, and decision making.
Thao led a study that examined the impact on grantees and program participants participating in a health initiative aimed to increase social connections and health behaviors. She supported a large qualitative study on parent retention and engagement in early childhood home visiting for the Minnesota Department of Health and had the opportunity to present a poster session for a conference in Washington, D.C. In addition to mental health and public health projects, Thao has also worked on projects in criminal justice, aging services, and homelessness.
