The University of Minnesota’s Mni Sota Center for Weather and Health (MCWH) Inaugural Engagement Event
In May 2025, Rainbow’s Deputy Director and Indigenous Action Research Director, Joe Morales along with Project Manager, Susan Reiter, attended the The University of Minnesota’s Mni Sota Center for Weather and Health (MCWH) inaugural engagement event. The event was held at the Minneapolis American Indian Center bringing together nearly 40 community partners and stakeholders.
Attendees gathered to learn about the Center’s vision and upcoming research opportunities, and to engage in a dynamic discussion on how extreme weather is impacting the health and wellbeing of American Indian and rural communities.
The event was marked by meaningful conversations, valuable connections, and a shared commitment to addressing the pressing challenges these communities face. It was an energizing and inspiring afternoon for all involved.
